All OHSU outpatients and members of the public can ride the Tram by paying the roundtrip fare (currently $4.00).
If your physician refers you to another OHSU clinic for an appointment on the same day, AND that appointment is at the opposite end of the Tram, the physician's staff can provide you with a Patient Tram pass and up to five accompanying family members can follow by using one Family FareTram pass.
Ticket Locations
The ticket machines located at the lower Tram station only accept credit/debt cards and quarters (no bills). You are strongly encouraged to pick up your OHSU Patient Fare Tickets from your doctor's office. In the unlikely event you lose or need a replacement ticket, staff at the following locations will verify your appointment and provide you with a replacement ticket:
Family members who are riding with a patient, and friends and family members who are visiting patients in one of OHSU's hospitals, will be given a Family Fare Ticket, which is valid for groups of five or fewer people.
Patient and visitor fare tickets are only valid for the day stamped on the ticket.
Traveling One Way from Marquam Hill
Because tickets are only issued at the South Waterfront Tram terminal, patrons traveling one-way from Marquam Hill will not need a ticket to ride down to CHH. You must have a valid fare instrument to travel back up from CHH to Marquam Hill
Please note: The Tram is not considered an emergency form of transportation. If you need to get to OHSU's Marquam Hill Campus due to a medical emergency or other urgent situation, please use another form of transportation. Your doctor may also recommend you take another form of transportation based on your situation.
If you have questions or want additional information about the rules for riding the Tram, please call 503 494-8283.
